Power Wheels Little Quad

My son received this when he turned two. Not much interest in it until about 2.5, and now he loves it as he turns 3.
The stickers all faded and are coming off from moisture. Other than that it has worked like a champ.
I “hot-rodded” the tires by wrapping them in black duct tape. This allows for greater traction when climbing slight slopes of gravel where the plastic surface tires just don’t do the trick.
The tiny rechargeable battery seems to last fairly well. I have not had to replace it yet (1 year later), and it seems to hold a charge long enough for my son to get bored, or maybe 15-30 min continuous driving, or 1/2 to 1 hour of actual playtime. At least he has never ran it out in a single play period.
I don’t know how fast it goes, but it’s not very fast. Now that my son is 3, I wish it were 1 or 2 mph faster. However, he still finds it fun enough. It’s slow enough that it’s hard to imagine him injuring himself at least.
It’s not super sturdy construction, but fine for his age. I imagine that larger kids will break it, but at under $70.00, consider it “definitely worth the price”.
This was a birthday gift when my son turned one. He’s enjoyed from then to now (3 1/2). He developmentally grew into it. First being able to hold down the button. For a long time he couldn’t steer it where he wanted to go, but by the time he turned 3 he was able to do that as well. My son is of average height and is still able to enjoy this toy. I will say, however, we are in our final months of enjoyment unfortunately, but this car has been a BLAST for him.

Polaris Trail Boss

I’m sorry I didn’t do a little more homework prior to dropping $350. The quad looks great. However, the functionality and design leaves a lot to be desired. To begin with, the tires; they’re hard plastic. My son likes to ride on the sidewalk because it represents the open road. Concrete and plastic is a bad combo and traction is an ever-present problem. When he hits the pedal, the wheels generally spin in place until they grab. Naturally anytime they do that they get ground down more than I would like. In fact, tires tend to spin quite a bit on anything but grass. What they should have done is design the thing with actual rubber tires – soft or hard – which would wear out less frequently, or at the very least offer a `slip-on’ 1/2″ thick rubber band that you could slip over the tire for added traction. Next is power – or lack thereof. My 6-year old son weighs close to 50lbs and his 4-1/2-year old sister roughly 40lbs. When they get on it together, which is 95% of the time, it puts quite a strain on the thing. Yeah, it’ll go over little hills but when you have a motorized vehicle that resembles a 4-wheel drive quad, who wants to go over a little hill? It’s also got a built-in towing attachment, but if it has trouble with the two of them on there, hooking a little wagon and towing a 3rd kid is obviously out of the question. Finally, the speed selector (shifter) is in the worst possible place. When placed in the faster of the 2 forward speeds, the shifter inconveniently hits the rider precisely in the right inner leg near the knee cap, which makes for an uncomfortable ride. Looking back, I should have looked into the Peg Perego Polaris 800 Twin, 24 Volt vehicle, with much more power. And even though the 800 Twin also has plastic tires (which would probably last even less with the extra power), I’d have preferred that over its sluggish, smaller cousin. Overall, I sorely regret the purchase.
this is a little pricey compared to the 6volt 4-wheelers, but it will hold more weight and go up and down uneven paths better. I would say it runs really well with up to 75lbs on it, but if you are expecting to put two 50 or 60lb children on it and drive up and down hills you will be frustrated. This is not a gas powered 4-wheeler with rubber tires, but it isn’t the price of one either. when it comes to power you get what you pay for. this will handle 130lbs, but only on flat ground.
This 4-wheeler runs better on grass or dirt and not well on pavement or rocks.
I would recommend this for 4 to 6 year olds or a bigger 3 year old that can follow directions well. One of the power wheel jeeps would be safer if you have a couple younger children. This 4 wheeler has a fair amount of height to it and a small child wouldn’t even beable to reach the gas peddle while sitting down, however As the child is trying to climb onto it the gas peddle is right on the floor board and it can be accidently stepped on and the 4-wheeler will take off. There is no neutral position on the gear shift and no “on and off” option, once the battery is in it. it will go when the gas is pressed.
This makes the toy dangerous if you have a toddler hanging around the toy. I keep the battery out of mine when not in use, since I have different aged children.
This toy has held up well for me, I have had one for around 4 years. There have been a couple cracked plastic peices, mine came with a tool box, which is nice, but doesn’t stay on real well. the wiring and shifter have held up well, there is some wear on the plastic tires. Tires can be replaced.
My son stopped showing interest in this toy around age 7 and started asking for a real 4-wheeler with more speed. This is probably true for just about any of the electric ride on toys, since they can only go so fast the heavier the child gets.

6V Quad 4 x 4 Pink

My 22 month old received this as a gift for Christmas. She rides it in the house for now because of the weather outside. She has already figured out how to drive it. Its the perfect speed for her. We’ve only had to charge it once since she received it. So it holds the charge for awhile. It’s a little loud but I guess that’s to be expected. Bottom line is she loves driving it.
This toy was easy to assemble, Our grand daughter just loves it. She is three and is very fearful of rides that move, but this atv’s slow pace is perfect for her. A more adventurous child will want a more powerful atv, I am sure.

Battery Operated Junior Quad

My 18 month old son got it for Christmas and it is the only toy that he constantly keeps playing with. He just now mastered the art of pushing the rev/ffwrd button and understanding that it will actualy make him go in those directios. The only 2 things I don’t like is that if he is stuck up against a wall and keeps pushing the pedal, the littl black rubber strip on the one wheel leaves a black mark on your carpet(it eventually goes away if you rub it with your foot really hard). The other thing is that the stickers are starting to peel off already after only 1 month. But other than that, it is his favorite toy and mine as well!
My son loves adventure, however I was a little disappointed in how slow this bike went. Also, he doesn’t know how to work the pedals that great so he’s a little scared to ride it now. Since only one wheel is powered, the bike can get stuck easily.
Overall, I would say this is good for very young children, but it will have to be replaced quickly because there’s just no fun factor. Think a very slow stroll.
Very easy to put together, seems quality built. I hate that you have to unscrew the seat to get to the battery for charging.

Mini-Quad Ride On

We just bought this car for my two kids ages 2.5 and 1 they both LOVE it. The toddler rides all over the house and it works perfectly due to the small size. The baby is able to sit on the car and make it go but hasn’t figured out the steering. My only complaint is that the tire leave HORRIBLE black streaks in our kitchen. I tried scrubbing them but there is still a faint line which will hopefully fade over time. Some faint black marks are worth all of the enjoyment my kids get out of this toy.

Toy Story 3 Mini Quad

I originally wanted to buy the Dora Power Wheels, but it seemed that it would not come in before my daughter’s birthday so I cancelled my first order. Then I saw this Buzz Lightyear Power Wheels and knew it is more suited for a boy, but my daughter loves Buzz! On the night of her 2nd birthday we came home from Chuck E. Cheese and I had the Quad set up with a balloon in the living room and she screamed and ran straight for it. She sat on it and jumped for a little bit then saw the little red button. Once she pushed it and the quad lurched forward she was initially scared so my niece, who is 14 years old had to show her how much fun it was and rode it. Then my wife rode the little quad and let me tell you that this little thing is one strong toy. Now my daughter has a blast with this little quad and soon I will be upgrading to a larger one once she gets bored. I would recommend this power wheels to all my friends with little or maybe bigger kids.
This was a gift for my son’s second birthday.
He instantly loved it! it is perfect for his size and he learned to drive it in a few minutes.
The disadvantage is that it can’t go reverse, but i don’t think at this age the kids will be able to maneuver it anyways.

Barbie Lil’ Quad

I bought this jeep for my 16 month old granddaughter for Christmas and she loves it. She jumped right on it, and at first when she pressed the button to go forward it jerked forward to quickly and scared her. I thought oh well, come spring time she’ll get use to it. All of a sudden she jumps back on and took off down the hallway. She has to learn to steer it straight, but that will come in time. Grandpa says its easy to put together. Its durable and I think it will last a long time.
We bought this quad for my 19 month old for Christmas, and she absolutely loves it. Not only has it been a joy to her, but my 4 year old loves riding it too. I was surprised at how much power this thing has as my 4 year old is able to cruise acrfess the grass on it. If you are looking for an inexpensive quad for your little one this one is a sure buy.

Dora Lil Quad

I bought this for my four year old son (okay, my son really loves Dora) and it was a huge hit. I have only used it on the lower speed and that seems fast enough for the time being. He had ridden it for a few hours already and I still haven’t had to change the battery.
We have taken it on the sidewalk and on the grass in the slightly uneven backyard. It has handled both types of terrain well. The reverse and forward are easy for my son to shift himself and he feels like a grown-up because he is “driving.”
My 2 Year old loves her Dora Power Wheels Quad. It powers up hills and through the grass. Now if she would just learn to steer!
