Overnight camping trips are a great way to experience the outdoors, but you can make them even more exciting when you take your ATV with you. However, this sometimes leaves a dilemma of how to get all that camping gear you have to your campsite when all you have is your ATV to haul it with. With an RV you load everything inside and pull in to your camping site where you hook up but with an ATV and the help of some ATV racks you can head out for the deep wilderness in search of a brand new spot to spend some time.
ATV racks allow you to easily load up all of the essential camping gear you need without making two, three or even four trips back down to where you have parked your truck. You simply load everything up for one trip and bring it all back when you’re ready to head back home.
Even with the added space you will now have it is still important to keep the weight you are adding on to a minimum. Packing things that you don’t need just because you can is pointless and takes away from the whole camping experience.
Among the most essential items you will need to take a long are things like flashlights, your tent and sleeping gear, some food and water, possibly a map, utensils to cook with, an emergency kit and a cell phone in case a big emergency were to come up. Eliminate the things you are only taking along for comfort because they only take up space that could be used for something else.
You will naturally have a few items that you must bring along that are a bit on the heavy side so always place those at the very bottom of your racks when loading. You can put all the lighter items right on top of them before securing everything down and there will be no risk of anything getting smashed during the trip. Food and water should always be placed on the very top of everything else for easy access when you need it.
Place equal amounts of weight on both front and back of the ATV to balance out the load you will be hauling. Try to avoid packing the items too high as well or you will through the center of gravity and make it dangerous to be driving the vehicle with a risk of tip over.
With all the added weight it is a safe bet your ATV is not going to drive like it does when it is unloaded so take your time and get used to the new steering instead of rushing. Avoid areas that may pose a risk of turnover as well. You may be able to take them just fine on your own, but with all of your extra equipment it might not work out the same way if you try it.

Whether it’s Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter, whether it’s turkey season or deer season, hunter’s are convening deep in the woods to partake in their favorite hobby. Many of these hunters have turned to all-terrain vehicles in the place of ambulating sneakily through the forest.
